Getting Started

1. 65th NATCON of ASI is being organized by Pt. J.N.M. Medical College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India from 30th November 2017 to 3rd December 2017.                2. No Hard Copy of Election notice by Returning Officer. Visit ASI website, Link-- Elections of ASI for notice and nomination form-from 15th July onwards.(GM min.11/16 (d),dated 22 Jan. 2027).

The website of the Anatomical Society of India (ASI) was launched during 57th NATCON of ASI held at KLE University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum (Karnataka) in December 2009.
So far the website has served not only to the needs of anatomists in India and abroad but has also given useful information to various Medical / Dental / Paramedical institutions, journal subscription agencies etc.  The website has been highly acclaimed on account of easy access and giving in detail an in site into the history of the Society, the historic meet of the anatomists in 1952 in Calcutta (WB),   the management and administration, office bearers, executive committee members, Constitution, Rules & Regulations of the ASI, Affiliation, various awards, orations, fellowship, membership, Journal, minutes of the Executive committee, General body, Editorial Board meetings, glimpse into the previous Conferences, ASI approved curriculum of MBBS course, State Chapters, and many more things which attracted to visit the website. Right from the opening of the website its browsing through various links has remained user friendly.
With the advancing times and greater use of IT and better means of communication the Society has grown with more activities and greater buzz. With a membership of over 2000 now there are more eyes watching the website. The Journal of The Anatomical Society of India has graduated to an International level including e-journal.  Further, a separate website of the Journal of ASI has been  created.  Significantly to honour the stalwarts in anatomy Fellowship and Life Time Achievement Awards were instituted and to encourage the upcoming and promising anatomists new awards were added. Therefore, it became imperative to make large scale modifications in the existing website.  It goes without fail that the scholarly inputs full of wisdom and foresight from Prof. G. S. Longia, the General Secretary, Prof. A. K. Srivastava, the Treasurer, Prof. Vishram Singh, the Editor-in-Chief and many enthusiastic anatomists  is the key to enrich the website.  Prominently the encouragement by anatomists, young and elder ones, has been a great strength.
I will be happy if the new website, cast in a different dye, serves the needs of the majority of the anatomists and institutions in the country and abroad and works as a greater cohesive force within the country and with the fellow anatomists abroad. Inputs for betterment will always be welcome.
